Saw my first doctor at Robert Darbishire about the lump on the top of my right leg and the dark mark on my back which would later turn out to be the first leishmaniasis wound.
Told that the mark was nothing to worry about and looked like it was headling and that the lump was a swollen lymph node due to infection somewhere.
Blood test taken. Came back clear a week or so later.
I aim, in this blog, to dispel some myths about leishmaniasis. I also hope it of use to anyone who has recently been diagnosed with the disease and would like some idea of what to expect. I have not written at length about the disease itself as this information is available from much more respectable sources.
Included are mainly letters, pictures, thoughts and some notes from hospital/surgery visits.
